WHAT IS THIS GAME?

Teen Movie Cliché is a one-page RPG made for One-page RPG Jam 2024 about teen movies from “Superbad” and “American Pie” to “Mean Girls” and “Easy A”.

The game focus on setting the mood for teen drama, embarrassing funny moments and gamefying social dynamics. With Traits that evoke the thematic (Bright and Shady, Rough and Smooth, Truth and Dare, Hot and Cold, Hide and Seek); 36 Abilities from archetypical Tropes of the genre (Nerd, Jock, Mean Girl, Weirdo, Delinquent and Preppy) and a method for Level-less character progression that could just as well be your character's ruin, Teen Movie Cliché is a nice call for a light hearted one-shot or even a small campaign for fans of the teen comedy genre.

CREDIT AND INSPIRATION

This game has ideas inspired by other tabletop RPGs such as the Progression Clock from "Blades In The Dark" and a modified version of the Conditions from "Masks".

This is a one-men show. To create the nostalgic scribbly feel I made a notebook texture for the layout and drew handmade details on Krita (drawing program) such as the custom lettering for every Trait, the icons of the Tropes, the stickers of Conditions, small doodles, highlights, dice symbols and the banner/header artwork.
